ANNUAL TECHBRIDGE SUMMER CAMP

Every Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. in July and August, TechBridge hosts a STEM camp for students ages 5 to 14. The two-hour sessions focus on hands-on learning through activities such as building prosthetic hands, coding basic video games, designing earthquake-resistant towers, and conducting simple chemistry experiments. The program also includes structured breaks and mindfulness exercises to support student well-being. Guest speakers from fields such as engineering, business, and architecture help students connect STEM skills to real-world careers. The summer concludes with a graduation showcase where students present their projects to family and community members.

WELCOME HOME

TechBridge, in partnership with Welcome Home Jersey City, fosters problem-solving and collaboration skills through financial and STEM-based activities. Our dedicated team of volunteers works with young residents of the refugee center, ensuring that all activities are simple, engaging, and age-appropriate. These sessions take place during the school year, from September to May, every Monday from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Our commitment to supporting Jersey City’s diverse community remains at the heart of everything we do.

Hudson Arts & Science Charter School

In collaboration with Hudson Arts and Science Charter School in Kearny, NJ, TechBridge hosts interactive STEM Nights that bring students and their families together for fun, hands-on learning experiences. These afterschool events are designed to engage diverse learners and encourage family participation, allowing parents and children to explore STEM concepts side by side in a supportive environment. We include experienced educators and volunteers from engineering and technology disciplines to guide activities, ensuring that students are exposed to real-world applications of science and innovation.

International Tutoring

As part of our mission to expand access to quality STEM education globally, TechBridge partners with NGOs serving low-income and under-resourced communities around the world. One of our key international collaborations is with Youth Growve of Africa, an organization dedicated to youth empowerment in Nigeria. Through this partnership, TechBridge volunteers lead virtual workshops teaching foundational Java programming principles to students in underserved Nigerian communities. These sessions not only introduced students to core coding concepts but also emphasized critical thinking, logical problem-solving, and creativity. Our international tutoring efforts reflect our belief that talent is universal, but opportunity is not, so we bring opportunity to where it’s needed most.
